Confidential, personalised Counselling in a comfortable & private setting

Hi, I'm Kate and I'm a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor for adults age 16+.

I think the Counsellor's role can be likened to gently holding up a mirror, helping you to reflect, make sense of your experiences and find meaning in them. If you have been through painful experiences or relationships, this can feel daunting at first. You don't have to know what's wrong to start Counselling- that's kind of the point- but seeing as you are already exploring therapy you probably have a sense that 'something isn't right' and the emotional distress you've been experiencing has become too hard to handle on your own anymore.

I work from easy access locations in Yateley, Hampshire & Wokingham, Berkshire — conveniently located near the borders of Berkshire and Surrey — and welcome clients from surrounding areas. I also offer online sessions for those who prefer or require remote support.

My background is a career in Education, both in teaching as a Special Educational needs specialist & advisor, so my journey has always involved coming alongside people in supportive relationships. I have always been passionate about understanding how we think and behave as humans, recognising it as a core part of our lives.

I have a BSc Degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, registered as a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I continue to develop myself by attending regular CPD training events and receive monthly supervision to ensure my practice is of the highest standard.

I often work with people who describe things like this:

  • Emotional burnout
  • Anxiety & overwhelm
  • Feeling disconnected or stuck
  • Not sure who I am anymore
  • Have carried pain from trauma silently for years
  • Successful on the outside but struggling beneath the surface
  • Can't hold it together anymore

I am particularly aware of how our early experiences & relationships can continue to impact us in adulthood, sometimes in ways we don't fully realise. Counselling can help you to notice patterns, thoughts & feelings that can be hard to make sense of on your own.

Speak in Confidence

Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy - and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

A problem shared...

Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing or resolving them.

Make better, healthier new choices

Working together I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, heathier choices moving forward.

What issues can counselling help with?

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

You don’t need to be in crisis to start counselling. Many people come because something feels unsettled, overwhelming, or difficult to understand. If you’re struggling emotionally and would like a safe place to talk, counselling will be helpful.

What if I don’t know what to talk about?

That’s very common. You don’t need to have a clear story or explanation.

Think of it like a safe conversation. We can start with whatever feels pressing and explore things gently over time.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes, I can work via Google Meet video calls with clients anywhere in the UK. Many clients find this is the best option to suit their schedule.

How long does counselling last?

This varies from person to person. Some people come for a few sessions, others for much longer-term work. It also depends how frequent your sessions are. We can review this together as therapy progresses.

What is a typical session like?

You will be able to talk freely and without judgement about whatever you need to. You don’t need to prepare, but the direction and pace will be in your control. I will listen and and will sometimes ask you questions to make sure I understand.
